Tinnitus is described as the ringing ear disorder which is generally characterized by low or high pitched roaring, clicking, hissing, buzzing or whooshing sounds. It may be heard in one or both the ears.
There are two kinds of Tinnitus -
- Subjective Tinnitus - It is the most common type where only the patient can hear the sounds. It is caused due to outer, middle or inner ear.
- Objective Tinnitus - It is a rare type of Tinnitus, where the doctor can listen to the sounds by examining the patient. It is caused due to problems in blood vessels, inner ear bone and muscle contractions.
