Sleep Apnea is a medical condition where a person stops breathing for about 10 -20 seconds for more than 30 times in just one hour of sleep. It lowers the oxygen level in the body and causes sleep disturbances.

Types of Sleep Apnea

  • Central Sleep Apnea – Brain sends delayed signals to the muscles to take the next successive breath.
  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea – In this case, brain sends the signal in time only, but there lies some obstruction in the midway passage to the muscles.
  • Mixed Sleep Apnea – It involves a mixed impairment of both the brain and the muscles.
