Schizophrenia is an acute mental disorder that negatively affects the way an individual think, feel or senses the outer world. Person afflicted with Schizophrenia cannot distinguish between real and imaginary world.
Classification of Schizophrenia
- Aranoid Schizophrenia - It is characterized by recurrent hallucinations and delusions.
- Hebephrenic schizophrenia- It includes disorganized thinking, disorganized behaviour and inappropriate emotions.
- Catatonic schizophrenia- It may either result in extreme hyper physical activity or completely decreased or ceased condition.
- Residual schizophrenia- It is characterized by at least one episode of Schizophrenia in the past 12 months. It represents a transition between a complete episode and complete remission.
