Causes

It is fungal infection caused by the TRICHOPHYTON group of fungi which includes T.rubrum and T.mentagrophytes. These microorganisms thrive on moist and warm skin and they feed on the skin protein,Keratin.

  • Skin-to -skin contact
  • Indirect Contact, like through the affected individual’s towel, shoes and apparel.
  • Scrathing, rubbing or squeezing the blisters results in further wide-spread infections.
  • Wearing wet and damp socks
