In West, some of the reports stated that ayurvedic medications contains high amount of toxic elements which causes adverse effect on human health.
Now, it’s a high time to prove the world that heavy metals are eliminated in the process of preparing ayurvedic medicines with true scientific validations. According to Dr P M Warrier, the chief superintendent of Aryavaidyasala Kottakkal, “Both scientific and clinical studies have found that toxic elements are eliminated during the processing of ayurvedic medications and also mercury levels does not exceed than the prescribed level”. Dr Warrier, who is also the president of ADMA (Ayurvedic Drug Manufacturers' Association), said in an event (conducted by Itoozhi Ayurveda) that ADMA is working on standardization of ingredients used in preparing ayurvedic medications.

In the backdrop of campaign against ayurvedic medicines he stated that it is well documented in Ayurvedic books that heavy metals are used during the manufacturing process of ayurvedic medicines, but also once the medicines are processed the heavy metals are eliminated from it. He also said that ayurvedic medications are not at all fatal and life-taking. As per a recent study in IIT Kharagpur, the heavy metals used in ayurvedic medications are converted in the form of nano particles and there are absolutely no traces of toxicity in it and it gets excreted from our body.
