What is Asthma?

Asthma is a condition in which the airways, or bronchial tubes  inside your lungs  is always inflamed, and makes it difficult for the individual to breath, causing symptoms like coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. The symptoms can be triggered by food, dust, mold or even cold air.

There are mainly six different types of asthma, which are:

  • Allergic Asthma

Asthma is a universal chronic airway inflammatory disease of the air passage and is characterised by recurring symptoms.   • If you suffer from bronchitis, take some cloves and banana, and mix the two. Add honey to it, and leave it for overnight. Have this mixture the next morning. This mix is said to strengthen your lungs.

  • Prepare a herbal tea out of ajwain, tulsi, pepper, ginger and have it. You will be relieved from the irritating symptoms of asthma.

  • The method of panchakarma is proved to be good for asthma patients.

  • An Indian herb known as vasa, is good for controlling bronchitis, and cough.

  • Turmeric is another natural bronchial herb, and is useful in chronic conditions.

  • Yashtimadhu, a natural herb is known for its soothing effect on trachea, preventing airways obstruction.

  • Rubbing brown mustard oil or sesame oil on the chest can provide relief from the symptoms of asthma.

  • If you are suffering from chest congestion and breathlessness, then mix some pepper with honey and onion juice and have it.

  • Grind 2-3 grams of nagar and bharangi. Have this medicinal mixture along with lukewarm water at least thrice a day. The mixture can help you reduce the asthmatic trigger.

  • Prepare a mixture of sitopladi churna, liquorices, borax powder and honey, and have it at least thrice a day to ease the severity of bronchitis.

  • Chew the fruit chebulic myrobalan before bed to find relief of asthmatic symptoms.

  • Powder the bay berry bark and have it. It serves as an effective remedy for people suffering from bronchitis.

  • Some of the other herbs that can be used by people with asthma are elecompane, arjuna bark, euphorbia, aniseed, trachyspermum ammi, mullein, thyme, black pepper, flax seed, ginger, manna, myrrh, celery seeds, and garlic.

The remedies stated above are simple, proven home remedies that people suffering from asthma can try at home.
