Scoliosis is an abnormal curve in the spine. It is a lateral (toward the side) curvature in the normally straight vertical line of the spine. It can be caused by birth defect, muscular dystrophy, metabolic diseases, and connective tissue disorders. The most common symptoms of scoliosis are tilted pelvis and uneven shoulder's height. Usually, scoliosis is not painful, but in some cases, backache or low-back pain and fatigue can occur. The other symptoms include uneven hips/leg lengths, and slow nerve action. In ayurveda, massages with medicated herbal oils can be used to maintaining the normal curvature of the spine.
