About Parkinson'S Disease
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive movement disorder; Parkinson’s involves the malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain, called neurons. In Ayurveda it is known as ‘Kampa Vata’. Parkinson's disease is caused by the progressive impairment or deterioration of neurons in an area of the brain known as the substantia nigra. Symptoms of Parkinson’s disease include tremor of the hands, arms, legs, jaw and face, slowness of movement, rigidity of the limbs, postural instability. Ayurveda has a more holistic approach towards curing Parkinson's disease. The Ayurvedic treatment for Parkinson's disease includes massaging with medicated oils, panchakarma therapies etc.
