Hypertension (known as Rakta Gata Vata in Ayurveda) is elevated pressure of the blood in the arteries. It is a common condition in which the long-term force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems. The symptoms of hypertension are headaches, shortness of breath, kidney diseases, fainting, nosebleeds, and blood spots in eyes. Causes of hypertension includes smoking and drinking, tension, and lack of exercise, excessive use of salt, obesity, kidney problems, stress. Ayurvedic treatment likes meditation, yoga pranayama and panchakarma therapies are recommended to ensure that the mind remains calm and stable.
