About Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy is a physical disability that affects movement and posture. Cerebral palsy refers to a group of disorders affecting a person’s ability to move. It is due to damage to the developing brain either during pregnancy or shortly after birth. Cerebral palsy affects body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. Symptoms of cerebral palsy are stiff muscles with normal reflexes, lack of muscle coordination, tremors or involuntary movements, slow writhing movements, difficulty in walking, excessive drooling or problems with swallowing, difficulty with sucking or eating. Causes for cerebral plasy are head injury, jaundice, Rh incompatibility, rubella (German measles), conditions relating to premature birth and stroke.Ayurveda has presented very good effects in patients of Cerebral palsy. Although cerebral palsy may not be entirely cured, Ayurvedic treatment can certainly aid to lessen disability and increase the functioning of the affected individual to a great extent.
