About Ptosis

Pathologic eyelid drooping, also called ptosis may occur due to trauma, age, or various medical disorders. This condition can affect one (unilateral ptosis) or both (bilateral ptosis) eyes. It can be present at birth or you can develop it later in life. The symptoms of ptosis are a drooping of the upper eyelids, difficulty to open eye, photophobia, strained eyes, watery eyes, double vision. The major causes are ageing, congenital ptosis, injury or diseases, nerve problems and muscle diseases. Ayurveda helps to cure ptosis through Shirodhara, nasya and Nethradhara procedures with herbal medicines.
